Founder’s Statement – Luis Espina

"Boxing changed my life, and now I want to use it to change the lives of others."

As a professional boxer and experienced coach, I’ve learned that boxing is more than just a sport—it’s a foundation for discipline, confidence, and self-respect. I founded Young Gloves Boxing Academy to give kids the opportunity to develop these essential life skills through the art of boxing. My goal is to provide a structured, positive environment where young athletes can grow physically and mentally, learning not only how to throw punches but also how to carry themselves with strength and integrity inside and outside the ring.

At 29 years old, my journey with coaching kids started at home, training my own son and daughters. Before I knew it, my neighbors’ kids started joining in. Parents were shocked at how quickly they were learning and how eager and excited they were to train. Seeing that passion and progress firsthand inspired me to take this program to the next level, making it accessible to more young athletes.

Through hard work, respect, and perseverance, Young Gloves Boxing Academy will shape the next generation of champions—both in the sport and in life.
